Musical Improv Podcasts
We made over 35 podcasts from the time we started this journey until a few years ago when we became too busy to keep them going. Plans are to restart but in the meantime we have left a few of our favourites on this page for you to listen to. If you are desperate to hear the others then get in touch and I might be persuaded.
Over the years, our teaching style has evolved away from the more instructional aspects of rhyming, line length and structure and more towards encouraging being in the moment, supporting, listening and genuinely improvising. Heather often says "There's a difference between writing and song in your head and then singing it, and just opening your mouth and singing". That said, there is always great benefit in rehearsing and practising skills that you can draw on in performance so while we feel that some of the more instructional podcasts do not reflect our current style of teaching, they can still be useful as reference and rehearsal material. Enjoy!
